Research Subcommittee

The Research Subcommittee is tasked with promoting and supporting research in the field of public involvement in transportation.  Subcommittee members meet regularly via teleconference to identify industry trends and research needs, develop research problem statements for funding consideration, and related activities.  Over the past two years, the Research Subcommittee developed two research problem statements that were approved for funding by the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (see below). 

The Research Subcommittee welcomes collaboration with other TRB committees, and encourages friends and members of the Committee on Public Involvement to join its efforts.  For more information, contact:

Survey

In 2008 the Research Subcommittee developed and distributed a survey for the purpose of identifying research needs related to public involvement and transit.  The positive response to this survey will assist the Subcommittee in preparing research problem statements for submittal to and consideration by funding programs that address these needs.
